The standout “hidden paradise” feature of St. Jakob im Defereggental is practically no lift queues — ever.Even at the absolute peak times (Christmas/New Year, February half-term weeks, sunny weekends), you almost never wait more than 1–2 minutes, and usually you just ski straight onto the lift. On most days it feels like you have the entire mountain to yourself.Real-life examples that regulars love to mention:

The main 8-person gondola (Brunnalmbahn) rarely has more than 10–20 people in front of you, even at 9:30 a.m.
The two main chairlifts (Mooserberg and Hanglalm) are often completely empty — you can literally do lap after lap without stopping.
